Ordinance:
Larkspur’s existing ordinance prohibits transient occupancy in residential zones. While there is no language that addresses short-term rentals, they are prohibited by default, said Planning Director Neal Toft. There is no option for short-term renters to obtain business licenses, which is an avenue other Marin municipalities, such as Mill Valley and Tiburon, have used to track short-term rental hosts. The council directed staff Wednesday to enforce a prohibition on a complaint basis. There was no vote.
